Manuka is a flowering tea tree native to New Zealand. The honey that is collected from these flowers has long been renowned for its remarkable beneficial properties. Manuka Honey contains special antibacterial properties including an enzyme that produces Hydrogen Peroxide which is a proven antiseptic and antibacterial agent. In addition to antioxidants that assist regeneration of new cells as well as neutralize skin cell damage. Manuka Honey is also a natural humectant; acting to prevent loss of moisture in addition to being extremely rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals that nourish, soothe and heal sensitive skin. It is also suitable for oily skin and combination skin.

What does this mean to our Wild Ferns’ consumers?

Every Wild Ferns Manuka Honey skincare product contains premium certified New Zealand Manuka Honey with percentage ranging from 80 to 100 Manuka Pollen analysis (Manuka Honey 80+), which defines its pureness & authenticity. This exceeds the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) guideline of greater than 70% Manuka pollen for Manuka Honey to be classified as mono-floral. In such, consumers can rest assured that the product they are buying has been subject to strict analysis; and can be guaranteed that they are buying a high quality certified Manuka Honey products which exceeds the minimum pollen level classification category of 70%.

Why choose only reliable skincare products brand?

To increase consumer understanding and awareness of Manuka Honey and the associated labelling, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) in conjunction with the Manuka Honey industry have come together to initiate a set of universal industry standards and definitions.

To educate the consumers of manufacturers from making health claimsin relation to ‘activity’ levels until further scientific research, (MPI) released the Interim Labelling Guidelines that outlines the basic characteristics of Manuka Honey. Initial findings have found significant variability in both the Methylglyoxal (MGO), and Non-Peroxide Activity (NPA) between: individual plants, the overall genetic composition of honey, the honey’s region of origin, the season of production, and over time under different environmental conditions. As such, it is now widely accepted that MGO and NPA are independent of whether the product is actually by definition a Manuka Honey or not; and this can be confusing for consumers. Research into this field is ongoing between MPI, Industry organisations and interest groups.

Not all honey is equal, which is why for the best results; it has to be Wild Ferns Manuka Honey, with a certified genuine 80+ pollen count. Ensuring our customers quality premium Manuka Honey.
